Do you ever...Do you ever have that one picture, that you spend forever creating, only to have it go unnoticed?Yeah. That's this one:I spend well over 20 hours working on it, and it hasn't even made a dent. Not that I really care, but I don't understand how my crappy photography and doodles get more attention than something that I slaved over, and put my heart and soul into. i.e., this piecegot 200 favorites (the most I've gotten in a VERY long time) and it was a doodle I did in a restaurant. I just don't understand. What am I missing? I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this, SO...What is one piece that you've created that you put your heat and soul into but has been overlooked?Link it below, and I will create a feature for everyone's hard work! Also, I realized that in my last journal entry I mentioned that I was going to Botswana. Well, I did, and it was the single most epic adventure of my life to date. I wrote a series of blog entries regarding

HUGE UPDATE: impossible2PossibleHello All!I know that I am not the best at keeping my Journal up to date. To be quite frank, I don't write journals frivolously on here. It's hard enough finding time to write my lab reports between engineering labs, running, rowing, and work. I simply enjoy posting the art that I am able to do in my free time and supporting other artists via faves and what not. I do, however, have a HUGE update.I am going to Botswana. To run. 50km (32 miles) a day.Fo sho-sies.I assume that many of my long-time followers know that I am a very avid long-distance runner. I applied in June to participate in a program that I've been wanting to participate in since 2009: impossible2Possible. It is a program where they select a handful of youth ambassadors (students between the ages of 17 and 21) to go abroad and run a marathon or more a day while carrying out some sort of project. I applied in June and was selected in July to go on their fall expedition to Botswana. There, I will be running with 7 ot
A Poll-ar ResponseIn response to the recent D.A. Poll:"Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has ever known"- Oscar WildeTrue OR False?I do consider art to be an intense mode of individualism, but to consider it MOST intense mode is like those "always" and "never" questions on multiple choice tests that always signified the statements were false. I believe that there is no one "most" intense mode, because the term "intense" can take on a different meaning for each person or each media of expression. Intense may mean that they put their whole heart and soul into their expression, or it may mean that the impact their expression has is intense, or it may refer to the feeling they acquire while doing whatever mode of expression they feel strongest in. There are numerous, uncountable ways that a person can express him/herself, and to name one of them the most intense of them all is biased. Someone may not be very indulgent in art, but more so in leadership; for them art would not be

New blog entry: http://run2live.webs.com/apps/blog http://run2live.webs.com/apps/blog/ It's too much work to update this journal. I'll just post a link to my blog when I up date it. You can read everything there life-related (or, more accurately, sport related) and I'll tack on the artsy-fartsy stuff here.Artsy fartsy:I've been working as a graphic designer through my University, and it's been quite rewarding and fun thus far. I will be unable to post any of the work I do for them on here, though, as it is the property of my employer. It has been taking up a lot of my creative energy / time, hence the slow down in postings, but now that classes are in full swing, I'll be sketching much more once again. And since the rowing season is in full swing, I'll be doing photography at the regattas and hopefully posting some worthy pics.
I'm Running 513 miles, guys. You heard me. I am going to run 513 miles (and for those of you who know I'm a big runner, this should come as no surprise ;D ). I've been training and planning for this since last December (2010). I will be starting on Wednesday, August 10th, and finishing on Saturday, August 20th. Your support would be really appreciated! Check out the event's page & follow on my running blog: http://www.run2live.webs.com/runtotech2011.htmYou all are awesome, and will see me back on DA soon PSI might end up uploading some running pictures if I'm able to get any on the trip!
Why is DA having a lot of errors this summer?I'm starting to get fed up with DA's server. I haven't had any problems on any other website but DA. It happens when I click "reply" to messages in my inbox. They don't send, and then the page refreshes and then I have to rewrite what ever I wrote (which really sucks if it was a long message and then my rewritten message, I fear, comes off as frustration). And then there's submitting deviations ... why is it taking so much longer to upload them? Is it because they put that silly green loading bar at the bottom of the deviation? Sometimes, when it's uploading, it'll change the picture to a deviation I already uploaded - which makes no frigg'in sense! And then it just takes forever for the page to load after I've submitted it. And it doesn't save my changes / takes too long to respond (so it stops saving) when I'm managing deviations in my inbox.DA, get yourself straightened out!

Norman Rockwell, All American DeviantShare|AboutNorman Rockwell, All American DeviantBy techgnoticNorman Rockwell Tribute by SarafinconceptsFew artists have so definitively reflected the lives of average Americans as Norman Rockwell. He began his lifetime dedication to being the “America’s Illustrator” as the 19-year-old art editor for Boys’ Life, the house publication of the Boy Scouts of America. A few years later he assumed his more famous position at The Saturday Evening Post, though he never broke his ties with the Boy Scouts. His first great achievement painting everyday scenes of America in his signature hyper-realistic style was
Collection: StarsShare|AboutStarsPhotographs and paintings of stars occupy that category of things you know are so, and yet it’s not quite possible to believe. One example is radio or television “signals” traveling in “waves” through the air, only to be reassembled for your listening or viewing pleasure in your living room radio or TV. Looking at clusters of stars lighting up the night sky like massive storm clouds, it’s impossible to think of those stars, those points of light, as separate massive burning suns, even though I know it’s so. Sometimes the most powerful magic requires no deception at all. The natural universe is more mystifying in its sheer numbers than any magician’s most mind–bending sleight of hand.“I am like a falli

Who is Dr. Strange?Share|AboutWho is Dr. Strange?By techgnoticDr Stange colored by DM-P18For several months the world has been asking the question ‘Who is Doctor Strange?’The faces of Ethan Hawke, Johnny Depp, Jon Hamm, Joaquin Phoenix, Tom Hardy, Jared Leto have been click bait for a thousand sites waiting for news of the star of the next Marvel movie franchise. According to Mike Fleming over at Deadline it now looks like Marvel have finally landed their perfect Doctor Strange in Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch. But while everyone is chasing the casting news, who is asking the real question here of ‘Who is Doctor Strange?’
Collection: CreaturesShare|AboutCreaturesIn ancient tradition, Halloween was thought to be the night of the year when the realms of the living of the living and the dead came the closest together, enabling evil spirits and demons to hop over to our side to make mischief. For centuries the Church made very serious studies of what these hellacious creatures were actually thought to look like. Today, “creature imagining” is just a creative exercise and a way of having fun. Thank goodness none of our deviantART artists are drawing any of the subjects of this collection from live models. Collection: Dia de Los MuertosShare|AboutDia de los Muertos“Day of the Dead” is not the “Latin American Halloween.” On Dia de los Muertos, Mexican families visit the spirits of their dead in the cemeteries where they rest. They bring food and other gifts as part of a happy celebration of departed loved ones. Halloween originated with the fear of the sprits of the dead visiting the living so food was offered as bribery for the spirits to do no harm. It was a scary once–a–year intersection of the world of the living with the world of the dead. Day of the Dead continues to be a celebration as antidote to mourning the passing over of loved ones. It is about the indestructible bonds of family being forever connected—even in the next world.“Entre flore
Collection: MasksShare|AboutMasksHalloween is a time for masks. Aliens, zombies, vampires and werewolves will soon walk the suburban streets in search of tasty treats. But then there is the next level of masks—the likenesses of movie stars, politicians and other celebrities with their most unflattering features exaggerated. Cheap shots, to be sure, but alibied as “satire.” We finally arrive at the “non–off–the–rack” mask–making of actual make–up artists. Here’s where the mask one chooses tells us things about the person we only thought we knew. You see, the scariest thing about masks is their very concept—of a friend or loved one, beneath the surface, not really being the person you know at all. That is a truly fearful thi
